How do I get the accreditation?To get the ECDL accreditation in Romania, you must contact ECDL ROMANIA.
High-schools are given free accreditation?
Based on the partnership between ECDL ROMANIA and the Ministry for Education, 200 high-schools received free accreditation for training and testing only students and teachers.
How much costs an ECDL exam?
The prices are established by each Test Center. Only the unique registration series has an unique price set by ECDL ROMANIA.
How long must be an ECDL/ICDL course?
The ECDL certification is very flexible and might not even need training. Therefore there is no established number of training hours, because of the different candidates levels of knowledge.
Which are the conditions for people with disabilities?
The European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) Foundation is committed to ensuring that no one is excluded from pursuing ECDL certification and is actively working towards ensuring accessibility to people with disabilities. To this end, the ECDL Foundation has been working within the ECDL / ICDL community and with disabilities groups for some years. The work has identified and eliminated major barriers to accessibility and will continue on an ongoing basis to enhance ICDL / ECDL products.
Romania is complying to the same regulations, but faces a delay as compared to westerns countries with regard to the facilities offered by the Test Centers. However ECDL ROMANIA provided testing for visually challenged people and has specific procedures for working with people with disabilities.
Can we use the ECDL logo?
The ECDL logo and ECDL name are registered trademarks and can be used only under the terms specified in the Test Center Contract. Specific trademark is used for accredited Test Centers. Illegal use is considered felony.
How long is the accreditation valid?
The accreditation is for 12 months and is automatically renewed every year if not requested otherwise, 30 days before the renewal date, by the test centre.
What's the role of the Test Center Coordinator?
The TC Coordinator is the main contact person for ECDL ROMANIA, responsible with candidates registration and certificates issuing and other ECDL related activities. He might also be a Tester, but is not mandatory.
What is a Tester?
Testers are the TC responsible for organizing the testing sessions. They must be accredited by ECDL ROMANIA.
Is there available course-ware?
For English approved course-ware, the ECDL Foundation is giving approval. For Romanian versions, ECDL ROMANIA. The Romanian approved course-ware is presented on the Romanian version of the website.
Can I organize ECDL courses without being accredited?
No organization can offer ECDL training of testing without having the ECDL accreditation. ECDL is an international trademark and its use without permission from ECDL Foundation or ECDL ROMANIA is a felony.How can I check the validity of an ECDL Certificate?You can verify it by e-mail: office@ecdl.ro or by phone: 021.316.99.22 specifying the personal identification number (CNP), name and the unique number of the certificate that needs verification. Also the ECDL certificates have a specific template.
